The Life She Forgot (by Joanna Davidson Politano)

To begin with, I fell in love with AJ Winthrop. What an amazing man he was. There are a lot of characters and storylines woven throughout the pages. The tapestry that is created through the author’s words is unforgettable. There were so many quotes that touched me and had me grabbing a pen and paper to jot them down. When an author does that, I am completely invested in the story. One of my favorites was: “Love is two broken people fitted together to hold each other up, to point each other toward God and wholeness and ordinary beauty, to small things that bring lasting joy. And because of brokenness in the world, perhaps all romances do end at marriage. But that’s precisely where a love story begins.” The dual timeline aspect was done well and the way they melded together at the end had me closing the book with a sign and a sign on my face. Another quote that made an impression on me was: “He isn’t the one who lost me, but the one who came and found me, sweeping me up and loving the broken pieces of me, holding me gently together while the shattered pieces mended.” Joanna Davidson Politano has created a masterpiece with words. It will touch you deeply and leave an everlasting impression.
