When the Sky Burned ~ A Day to Remember #6 (by Liz Tolsma)

I have thoroughly enjoyed all six of the books in the “A Day to Remember” series. Each one focuses on disasters that actually occurred in the United States. I had never heard of any of these events so it was informative and entertaining to read this series. The author, Liz Tolsma, has done a wonderful job of bringing the fire that ravaged Peshtigo, Wisconsin. You will find yourself drawn into the story and caring about the characters ... well, all but one character(!). There are no secrets or mysteries per se. But you will journey along with Mariah and Jay as their friendship is tested. The tragedy of the fire affects so many lives. The story will allow you to observe how the strength, dedication, integrity, caring, and faith in God will guide them through this devastating time. A wonderful story of forgiveness and that justice can prevail. I encourage you to read all of the books in this series!

Every Precious and Fragile Thing (by Barbara Davis)

I have enjoyed previous books by the author, Barbara Davis. However, this one just did not do it for me. I did not like the character … at all!! … and the story did not pull me in and have me invested

After Paris (by Mary Ellen Taylor)

This book has a lot of very positive reviews. So let me preface mine by suggesting you read it to see if it appeals to you. This was just a horrible read for me. It was a lot of smut and explicit sexu
