Until We Meet Again ~ Mimi's Journey #2 (by Roberta Kagan)

I have typically loved reading historical fiction books that take place during WWII. But I have read so many that I feel like I am oversaturated with that genre as struggle finding one that covers a new aspect of that time. However, Roberta Kagan managed to pull me into the story of Mimi and Nick. It was an emotional journey through the pages. Though their story has them spending the majority of the book apart, their lives were touched in different ways by the Nazi propaganda. The author does an amazing job and sharing the research she has conducted through the characters, the setting, and the political climate of the time. Well, there were horrific moments of Hitler's reign of terror, there were also glimpses into the willingness of people to take a stand for what is right … no matter the consequences. I will say that this book left me, emotionally drained, but it was worth the tears and heartache. I felt during my journey through the pages.
