The Spy Coast ~ The Martini Club #1 (by Tess Gerritsen)

The first book in The Martini Club by Tess Gerritsen has me hooked on this new series. I can’t wait to get started reading the second book, The Summer Guests. This is a dual timeline book but with the same character, Maggie ...  a retired 60-year-old spy, narrating the story. The characters are well developed. Some of them are unique in that they are more than just retired older individuals living in the town of Purity, Maine. They make up The Martini Club and set us up for what I hope will be many adventures in the future. I was able to listen to the audiobook version and the narrator does a wonderful job of keeping you interested in the story. This book kept me on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t put it down ... listening every chance I had until I got to the very end. I have loved everything I have read by Tess Gerritsen and am thrilled with her foray into the thriller spy genre. I strongly encourage you to put this on your to-be-read list. You will be in for a rollercoaster ride of anxiety and uncertainty. It’s a trip you will want to take!
