The Songbird of Hope Hill (by Kim Vogel Sawyer)

This was a wonderful book of family, love, mercy, and God’s grace. With a theme of forgiveness sprinkled throughout the pages, you will experience a story of the lives that are transformed through the love and care that the Overly family demonstrate to the women who have served in a house of ill repute. Relationships are developed ... though some with a little animosity ... and lives are created anew as they discover God’s love. It was heartwarming to watch some of the women discover that there are men who will love them for who they are ... not just what they can provide in physical ways. Families are born and love springs up from the melody of hope in such a difficult time. With Birdie as one of the main characters, you will be cheering her along as you hope she can accept that she is worthy of God’s love and grace. And there is a twist or two that will have you gasping in surprise. This is definitely a great Christian read for a mature audience (because of the prostitution aspect). And it is one you need to put on your to-be-read list. I have read a couple of the author’s books and have enjoyed them all. I will definitely be on the lookout for future books she releases. Her gift with words is a blessing to those who have the opportunity to get lost in the pages of her stories. I am so glad to have been blessed with the opportunity to read this one.

Every Precious and Fragile Thing (by Barbara Davis)

I have enjoyed previous books by the author, Barbara Davis. However, this one just did not do it for me. I did not like the character … at all!! … and the story did not pull me in and have me invested

After Paris (by Mary Ellen Taylor)

This book has a lot of very positive reviews. So let me preface mine by suggesting you read it to see if it appeals to you. This was just a horrible read for me. It was a lot of smut and explicit sexu
