The Rebel of Seventh Avenue (by Annabelle Marx)

I love historical fiction books. This was different than the ones I typically read in this genre. What a wonderful exploration into the life of Maisie McIntyre. She was an amazing woman and I enjoyed getting to know her and the many people who played a part in her life and the creation of couture. This is a story that will take you on a journey from Edinburgh to New York City to Hollywood and more. Her sense of caring for those around her shown through the pages. She was talented, creative, had great business acumen, was trustworthy, had a tremendous amount of courage, and truly a rebel of a woman in that time period. When you open The Rebel of Seventh Avenue, you will get lost amidst the struggling poor, the glitch and glamour of high society, the racial prejudices of life in America during that time period, the sexism women faced, and the ability of one woman to excel in life.
