The Lost Passenger (by Frances Quinn)

This is one of the best books I have read this year. I loved the characters, the settings (Europe, the Titanic, and America), and the story. I did not want to put it down. The only thing that I think could have made it better was if it was an audiobook and hearing the accents for the people from different countries and especially Teddy’s sweet voice. The first part of the book provides great background into Elinor’s life ... which is important for later on. And while part of the story takes place on the Titanic, that is only a small piece of it. The time on board and while waiting to be rescued was the catalyst for her life once she arrived in America. What an amazing woman. Her journey through so many trials and tribulations with dedication, courage, and tenacity was awe inspiring. A story of family, aristocracy, expectations placed on people, privilege, determination, love, loss, and hope. This is one to put at the top of your to-be-read list. It is one that has made a lasting impact on me and has stayed with me long after reading the last word and closing the cover with a smile on my face.
