The Ledger ~ The Menu #2 (by Steven Manchester)

This is probably one of the most difficult books I have read from an emotional standpoint in a long time. The exploration through the pages of the individuals who work and are inmates in a prison will allow you a glimpse into their hearts and minds. There is a darkness through which you will have to navigate. However, the thread of God's acceptance and forgiveness will reach down deep in your soul. As a mother of a police officer, I understand the difficult experiences they face each day and how the darkness of humanity becomes overwhelming. (I am so glad my son has the ability to be a rescuer of lost souls.) I love the way Stephen Manchester presents the story through the “ledger” and while we have free will, we are responsible for the life we write in our ledger. As you absorb the final word, closing the book after an emotional roller coaster of a ride, you will know that our heavenly Father never leaves us. He loves us with an abundance of grace to forgive us and our wrongdoing. Stephen Manchester has a gift for reaching down deep and challenging the reader to discover redemption and faith through the darkness.

Every Precious and Fragile Thing (by Barbara Davis)

I have enjoyed previous books by the author, Barbara Davis. However, this one just did not do it for me. I did not like the character … at all!! … and the story did not pull me in and have me invested

After Paris (by Mary Ellen Taylor)

This book has a lot of very positive reviews. So let me preface mine by suggesting you read it to see if it appeals to you. This was just a horrible read for me. It was a lot of smut and explicit sexu
