The Glovemaker's Daughter (by Shari J. Ryan)

I really enjoy reading historical fiction books that take place during WWII. This one was an emotional read. And I typically enjoy books with a dual timeline aspect. But the fact that this one bounced back and forth between 1942 and 1943 wasn’t enough time span to make it easy to read. However, the characters are well developed and the story was one that will grab you and hold you emotionally invested until the end. Raya’s life in the concentration camp is heart wrenching. But this also serves as a reminder to what so many had to endure during this horrific time in history. This particular WWII historical fiction novel focused more on the towns that were invaded by the Hitler’s army. You will be cheering on so many of the characters … Raya, Nicolas, as well as the people of Paris and those who fought for the resistance. Emotionally charged, you will experience fear, courage, and sacrifice. The devastation that the people experienced will have your heart aching. But a mother’s love is the most powerful thing in the world.
