The Collaborator's Daughter (by Eva Glyn)

I love reading historical fiction books, especially those set during WWII. And I love dual timeline stories. Being able to travel between two time periods and get to know the people, locations, and what is happening in the world is intriguing. I have not read many that covered the war in Yugoslavia, so I enjoyed learning more about what happened in that location. The author obviously did a lot of research and presents a moving story that is emotional at times. One aspect I enjoyed was that the primary character was 60 years old, so much older than the typical character you read about that take place during WWII. I had never heard about the Daksa massacre and the horror that Branko Milišić experienced caused me to cringe. So many atrocities during Hitler’s reign of terror that I continue to learn about. I hope that we never forget so that we do not have to experience this again.Thank you to NetGalley and One More Chapter for my advanced review copy. All opinions and thoughts are my own.

I was not the target audience for this book. Books in the magical realism and fantasy genres are not appealing to me. However, it was interesting to read about Jewish matchmaking. This seemed more lik
