The Book of Lost Children (by Jenny O'Brien)

I enjoy reading historical fiction books and especially those that take place during WWII. The fact this was a dual timeline book made it more appealing to me. I liked the fact that the prior time period was set in Guernsey during the Nazi occupation. Once again, I was in awe of the courage and dedication of so many individuals during such a difficult period in time. I really enjoyed getting to know Evelyn Nightingale, the primary character during the WWII time frame. While the present time focus was not as engaging, I still liked exploring Kitty’s family secrets. The conclusion blends the two time periods well, but did not provide a grab-your-attention, awe-gasping ending. However, for the most part a good read.

Every Precious and Fragile Thing (by Barbara Davis)

I have enjoyed previous books by the author, Barbara Davis. However, this one just did not do it for me. I did not like the character … at all!! … and the story did not pull me in and have me invested

After Paris (by Mary Ellen Taylor)

This book has a lot of very positive reviews. So let me preface mine by suggesting you read it to see if it appeals to you. This was just a horrible read for me. It was a lot of smut and explicit sexu
