That Last Carolina Summer (by Karen White)

I have enjoyed the variety of books by the author, Karen White. She is one of my favorite authors and I am ready to jump into whatever book she has just released! This story was a journey through the pages of family, relationships, loss, aging, dealing with dementia, and the value of being appreciated. There are moments when your heart breaks for Phoebe as she endures one attack after another from her mother. You understand the decisions she has made as you discover her family’s history and the difficult relationship with her sister. Such a roller coaster ride of emotions and you will come to understand the reason behind Phoebe and Addie’s behavior. It was a nice treat to have the interesting bird facts at the beginning of each chapter. Wonderful and well-developed characters, a scenic and welcoming location in South Carolina, and a story that is emotional, moving, with a twist of mystery. Definitely one to put on your to-be-read list.

Every Precious and Fragile Thing (by Barbara Davis)

I have enjoyed previous books by the author, Barbara Davis. However, this one just did not do it for me. I did not like the character … at all!! … and the story did not pull me in and have me invested

After Paris (by Mary Ellen Taylor)

This book has a lot of very positive reviews. So let me preface mine by suggesting you read it to see if it appeals to you. This was just a horrible read for me. It was a lot of smut and explicit sexu
