Last Stop Union Station (by Sarah James)

I love reading historical fiction books. This one was a different focus than my typical read. Though it does occur during the WWII time period, it does not focus on the horrors of the war. An amazing cast of characters. I was not familiar with the Hollywood Victory Caravan or the efforts actors engaged in to support the war effort and encourage patriotism. The primary character, Jackie, is not a pleasant individual. However, she does have her positive qualities and joins forces with Grace, a female detective, to help determine if the incident was an accident or actually a murder. Lots of clues and potential suspects are sprinkled throughout the pages. Initially I had a hard time getting invested in the story ... mainly because Jackie was such an unlikable individual. However, once the the action picked up and the investigation began, I was pulled into the story and did not want to stop reading until the end. This ended up being an enjoyable read and Jackie eventually has an opportunity to redeem herself.
