Come Fly with Me (by Camille Di Maio)

Camille di Maio has become one of my favorite authors. Her stories always pull me in and I have a hard time putting the book down once I start reading it. I loved learning about what it took to become ... and actually stay ... a Pan Am stewardess. The two primary characters, Beverly and Judy, will have you cheering them on as they navigate the rigorous training, clothing and personal attribute requirements, and the willingness to travel internationally. Their friendship, however, serves them well and provides the support they need during the difficulties. The background story of their personal lives and who they were before being awarded the honored title of Pan Am stewardess is interesting. As they develop romantic relationships, you will be falling in love along with them. There are flashes of the present day sprinkled throughout various chapters so you will be prepared for the heart wrenching moment. I strongly encourage you to put this one at the top of your to-be-read list. I just know that as soon as the author releases a book, I am anxious to get lost in the pages and her gift with words.
