Camino Ghosts ~ Camino Island #3 (by John Grisham)

I enjoyed the first two books in the Camino Island series by John Grisham. However, this one was not a pleasant read for me. I could not connect with the characters and the storyline itself was just blasé. It read more like a nonfiction book and not a good one at that. I was disappointed in this lackluster work. But because I have typically enjoyed the author’s books in the past, I will give him another chance ... at least one more to redeem himself.

One of the things that turned me off was that the audiobook was narrated by Whoopi Goldberg. Her speech was horrendous and she did not change her tone of voice or the inflection for the various characters. It was soooo boring! Please don’t ever ask her to narrate another book for you. It will cost you sales! (Of course, now that I have posted this review, she’ll probably lambast me on The View since I didn’t have anything nice to say about her.)

Thank you to NetGalley and Doubleday for my advanced review copy. All opinions and thoughts are my own.
