All That Lingers (by Irene Wittig)

I enjoy reading historical fiction books based on WWII. This one has a little different focus in that it deals with the time before, during, and after WWII in Austria. The story of Emma will tug at your heart. There are a lot of characters included … in fact, so many that it was hard to keep track. One advantage of a paper copy of a book is that you can easily flip back to a list at the beginning. that is harder to do with an e-book. However, by the time you are about halfway through the book, you begin to connect with the characters and experience their loss and betrayal and how determined and strong they were. Thank you to NetGalley and the author for my advanced review copy. All opinions and thoughts are my own.
