A Holiday for Homicide ~ Cook-Off #9 (by Devon Delaney)

This is the first book I have read in the Cook-Off Series. Maybe if I had read the previous eight books I would have enjoyed it more. I typically love cozy mystery books that feature a food aspect. And there were some positive aspects to this book. But it was just an okay read for me. I did enjoy the cryptic messages on the napkins that appeared at Pep’s food truck. There are a lot of positive reviews, so my less than enthusiastic endorsement could simply be the place I was at when I opened the book and began reading instead of the actual story and/or writing style. I would encourage you to give it a chance if you typically enjoy cozy mysteries that center around food.

Every Precious and Fragile Thing (by Barbara Davis)

I have enjoyed previous books by the author, Barbara Davis. However, this one just did not do it for me. I did not like the character … at all!! … and the story did not pull me in and have me invested

After Paris (by Mary Ellen Taylor)

This book has a lot of very positive reviews. So let me preface mine by suggesting you read it to see if it appeals to you. This was just a horrible read for me. It was a lot of smut and explicit sexu
